Nagar Kirtan - Yearly celebration of the Sikh community (Khalsa Day) 2026

On SUNDAY  06/09/2026 the Sikh community paraded from Singh Saba Gurdwara Barking to Singh Saba Redbridge Ilford. The parade started at 1100hrs from Singh Saba Barking with approximately 1000 worshipers, while the religious parade was taking place the Sikh community gave vegetable food, soft drinks and Asian sweets called (Langer) as the Sikh community were singing holy hymns (Kirtan) during the walk.

The Gurdwara place of faith had volunteers to make sure the religious peace walk went smoothly as possible, EA officers special constables and local SNT PCSO 7002EA M.KASER ALEEM assisted the walk with the Clementswood SNT and Loxford SNT. 

The local MP Mr Jas ATHWAL joined the peace walk who engaged with the police the general community and the Sikh community.

PCSO 7002EA ALEEM engaged with the committee members of Singh Saba Gurdwara and the Sikh community to assist with crowd control and safety, crime prevention advice given to the community in Punjabi to make sure their belonging are being put safely in a safe place, put their mobile phones out of sight after using their phone, speaking to parents to keep their children with them if they do get lost in the crown to approach the PC's and PCSO's on duty. Overall the peace walk went safely with no issues or crime to report. PCSO 7002EA ALEEM gave out the METENGAGE cards so they could register themselves to have contact their local SNT officers when needed.
